HLI HAS PRO-LIFE LIBRARY ON COMPACT DISC

Human Life International has assembled an extensive pro-life library as a compact disc, the first such collection of resources for pro-life researchers, writers, debaters, and activists.

HLI researchers, realizing that although there were many good books and articles on specific pro-life topics, no comprehensive, single source of pro-life information existed, spent over 10 years developing the new CD.

The HLI compact disc covers the gamut of life issues, including contraception, surgical and chemical abortion, euthanasia, and natural family planning.

The thousands of documents contained in the CD are all hypertexted like a website for easy browsing, so readers can click back and forth between references.

The CD includes five major sections:

  1. A 12,000-subject comprehensive index.
  2. An expanded version of HLI’s encyclopedic The Facts of Life:  An Authoritative Guide to Life and Family Issues.
  3. A broad collection of documents of the Catholic Church.
  4. The complete pro-life and theological writings of natural family planning pioneer Fr. Anthony Zimmerman.
  5. A compendium of works of interest to pro-lifers, such as documentation on thousands of incidents of violence against pro-lifers, and quotes from Planned Parenthood founder Margaret Sanger’s Birth Control Review.

The Facts of Life, by HLI’s Brian Clowes, is a complete manual for serious pro-lifers that has been distributed worldwide and translated into German, Spanish, Korean, Italian and Portuguese.

Dedicated Catholic pro-lifers know how much their work is motivated by, and receives strength from a strong, well-grounded faith.  For that reason, the CD library contains a sweeping array of Catholic Church documents.

They include The Catechism of the Catholic Church, all 293 papal encyclicals, all 16 documents of Vatican II, St. Thomas Aquinas’ Summa Theologica, and Pope John Paul II’s Theology of the Body.

Also in this category are many relevant documents of the Roman Curia, such as The Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith’s Donum Vitae (“On Respect for Human Life”) and the Pontifical Council for the Family’s “The Truth and Meaning of Human Sexuality.”

Father Zimmerman’s scholarly writings include his books:  Catholic Viewpoint on Overpopulation;  Natural Family Planning, Nature’s Way – God’s Way; and Catholic Teachings on Pro-Life Issues.

The CD has nine books and 165 articles on natural family planning, a complete pro-life debating course, and two HLI books by Dr. Clowes:  Call to Action or Call to Apostasy and Catholics for a Free Choice Exposed.

HLI’s pro-life library CD is available at www.hli.org (click on bookstore) for $24.95.

HLI’s pro-life CD library includes Pope John Paul II’s Theology of the Body.
