Pro-Life Training Program Series

Capitalize on Pro-aborts' Weakness

The third of the “Ten Principles of the Offensive” is to “exploit the opposition’s weaknesses.”

A key pro-abortion weakness is a shortage of abortionists.  The average age of abortionists is 58; that is an aging population.  Many young medical students are unwilling to take up abortion.  Moreover, many medical schools that once taught it are no longer doing so.

Occasionally, we’ll see some legislative attempt to force medical schools to teach it, and even force students to learn it if they want their degrees.  That only serves as testimony to the pro-abortion desperation for new blood (in more ways than one).

Nowadays, we see that many of them are imported from other countries, and don’t have proper training.  One excellent way to exploit this weakness is to expose the abortionists’ greed and lack of real medical credibility (to see this principle in action, see “Truth Tour targets D.C. abortionist” in this newsletter).

Another weakness is malpractice litigation.  Many abortionists are terrible doctors, and abortion itself is dangerous to women.  Consequently, many lawsuits have been filed, and many of them have succeeded (again, the “Truth Tour” article shows how these lawsuits can be used to expose abortionists).

Yet another weakness of the pro-abortionists is the violence of abortion.  We must expose it.  The Face the Truth tours provide an excellent vehicle for so doing.  We must make plain the abject horror and violence of what is happening.

The truth may be ugly, but it’s still the truth.  Some pro-lifers feel that this is not “loving,” not “gentle.”  They have bought into an anti-life idea that we should not shock, disturb or traumatize people in any way, even when horrible injustices are taking place.  Those who would rather take the “non-confrontational” approach may not really believe in the humanity and personhood of the unborn child as firmly as they should.

Another weakness is funding.  The pro-aborts, particularly Planned Parenthood, could not do much of what they do without our tax dollars.

This will require legislative and political action.  Some pro-lifers eschew politics as something dirty and beneath a Christian.  I hereby challenge them to cease such foolish thinking and take up their God-given responsibilities as American citizens to fully participate in the political and legislative arena.

Corporations who fund Planned Parenthood need to be boycotted by pro-lifers.  Contact Life Decisions International (www.fightpp.org) for more information.

The inconsistency of the abortion movement is yet another weakness.  I strongly recommend that you obtain Scott Klusendorf’s “Pro-Life 101” tape series from Stand to Reason (www.str.org).  Defend Life brings him and Stephanie Gray in to speak from time to time.  They both do an excellent job of teaching how to exploit the pro-abortion lack of logic.
